Ann Dunbar is renowned for her unique technique of blending watercolor painting with delicate embroidery, creating textured and luminous pieces that often depict natural landscapes and floral themes. Her works are celebrated for evoking emotional responses and instilling a meditative sensation in viewers.

Ann Dunbar is a lifelong traveler and collector of things. Her works are careful arrangements and vignettes of a wide variety of vintage materials and items. This includes paint, foil, fabric, old textbooks and magazines, and found objects. Dunbar creates shrine-like shadow boxes and altars that celebrate a new context for lost and forgotten images and everyday objects. Through the layering of images, food, clothing, history, language, and memory, her works are nostalgic representations of the past and of memory. Dunbar’s works are exhibited worldwide in various galleries and public collections.
