Priscilla Hoback

Clay two dimensional

1939 – 2018

Biography: Priscilla Hoback was a native Santa Fean whose works in glazed clay reflect the richness of Northern New Mexico. Her art was inspired by the deep blue sky, the crispness of mountain air, the muted tones of the desert landscape, and the omnipresent culture of ancient Indians. These elements influenced her production of stone murals and animal portraits in fired clay reminiscent of the cave murals of Lascaux and Altamira.
