Carol Velarde, a Santa Clara Pueblo potter, is renowned for her miniature blackware pottery featuring deep-carved geometric designs. Coming from a family of potters, including her sisters Marie Suazo and Doris Tenorio, Velarde continues the tradition of creating intricately carved and polished pieces.
